My dog Kevin
Hello!!!!

![]()
As you probably have noticed, my name is Juliana, but I like to be called Jú or Juni
I am a Gaucha, I live on a “small farm” in small town close to Porto Alegre, the capital of Rio Grande do Sul, and I get a few of my ideas from here at home for my drawings. We have a variety of flowers, fruits, and a small variety of native plants, which are the treasure of my family.
I am 31 years old ( 28/10/1976), I live with my parents and my brother Max, four years younger then me, we have little dog, which is really pretty, her name is Pequena (small), and when we moved here about 4 months ago we were adopted by three other loving dogs, they conquered our hearts. Preta (black) is a beautiful Collie mixed with another breed of dog that I don’t know the name, her mother (who is identical), and her sister who is very different, short and the color of honey, which we call Gordinha (chubby).
In the beginning they were just a source of dirt thistles, but now we brush them, bathe them, and they have turned into o very sociable dogs (ha, ha, ha), but they still go and party with their gang of friends in the woods behind our house every night.
Soon I will have a collection of my house and animals to show to everyone.
Let me tell you how the graphics made in “paint” entered in my life.
I abandoned the college of Social Service to return to high school and took a course to teach little kids, at “Colegio Bom Conselho” following my desire I’ve always had to work with kids.
Until then I didn’t know that country style graphics existed, but I felt the necessity to search for infantile images to decorate me teaching plans, assignments and little games that I needed to present as an apprentice, other then this I also gave classes in the church that I frequent, to the youth and I liked to make little cards or bookmarks for the end of classes.
Sadly I encountered few materials, and how I’ve always like to draw, I took a risk to do some designs; I scanned them, to give them a “touch-up” in “paint” and create my cards.
So this is how I learned to make a few animate designs (Japanese animated designs), that my brother and I adore (but he draws much better then me). Who has never heard of Sakura or of Inuyasha? (But that is another story).
One day I searched for little bears, to make a letter to the young women and my brother told me to put in the word “cute”… and the internet browser led me to a site called “Graphic Garden”, which really has beautiful little bears.
I absolutely fell in love for the style, for the simplicity and for the images in general. Through this sight I got to know a few others, and could see that every one has its own style and design. I also thought that it was really kind of them, to always give a card, stamp, or a small collection to the visitors and I really got the desire to buy a few collections, but I didn’t have the conditions.
Other then this, all of the addresses that I found are American or European and buttons, banners, cards… are all with phrases in English, German… I found a talented Brazilian artist, but she also offers her collections normally in English and I wanted to be able to make something 100% Brazilian for me and for the girls of my class.
This was the motive, for me to adventure and make my first design. A lady bug that turned our really terrible, but I took several hours to make it and I was proud of my try.
On this occasion I encountered another site, where the artist taught, step-by-step, to make a candle (I don’t remember where) and this made me understand that I didn’t only need to know how to draw. I had to have an understanding of depth, shading, size, how to combine colors, to create my own colors and principally encounter my own style.
After one year and many, really many hours in front of the computer, I can show you part of what I was able to create and what I am still creating.
